Buy Nevada First, is an Economic Development Plan created to bring out the best in our community, provide opportunity in today's economic climate and create local jobs. By organizing and promoting Locally Owned Businesses, we help lay the foundation for recovery, growth and sustainability.
The key ingredients to the success of our program as a marketing and education tool are combining a "Choose Local First" campaign with a free business directory listing for every locally owned independent business.

- We identify and brand WHICH businesses are truly Nevada Based-Locally Owned. To help customers find these local businesses, we offer free window poster, a free listing in our online directory and free phone app.
- We offer a LOCALS ONLY internet marketing package in the Buy Nevada First Local Business Directory that includes the latest software for marketing on smartphones and tablets. Every local business needs internet and social media support to increase visibility in searches to better compete with the chains.
- We are an Advertising Cooperative gathering a little money from many Local Businesses to buy ads on TV, radio, social media and print reminding consumers to “Buy Local!” as much as possible.
- We offer retail space in the Buy Nevada First gift shop in the Nevada Marketplace for Nevada merchants to retail their Nevada products to the public.

If we all shift our purchases, what we can, when we can, we can create a 10% shift. That would lead to over 350 MILLION dollars circulating in our local economy. That would help create 2,500 LOCAL jobs, EVERY YEAR!
10%in2020 is a community-wide grassroots movement of citizens, businesses, and non-profits working to shift 10% or more of their own annual spending from non-local businesses to locally owned independent businesses. This modest but important change will result in a larger share of our dollars staying in our region, creating an economic multiplier that supports thousands of new jobs and spurs a fundamental transformation of our economy.
